An office bearer election for executive committee FAOPMA will be held during the 2007 FAOPMA AGM in Taipei, Taiwan. The current FAOPMA President, Mr. CHOI Heung-sik of Korea Pest Control Association, will chair the election meeting while his presidential post will be taken over by Mr. Junichiro Katayama, President-Elect after the election. President CHOI will also hosts a lunch for all his committee members during the Taipei event.
FAOPMA President (2006-2007) Mr. CHOI Heung-sik reported in the Annual General Meeting 2006 that a team of eight delegates from five Korean pest control companies assisted in the Tsunami disaster relief activities from January 5 to February 2, 2005 at Banda Ache, Indonesia. The team provided pest control treatments and related technology transfer to the Indonesian Authorities as part of the relief activities. A total of 10,858 litres germicide/pesticides (value approx. US$76,000) were also contributed in the operation.
The Leonardo C. Villegas, President of Philippines Pest Exterminators Association, (PEAP), The Philippines, was appointed as Hon Treasurer replacing the former Thailand representative due to resignation of the latter.
Mr. Doug Howick, retired National Executive Director of AEPMA, was honored the title of Honorary Advisor for FAOPMA by AGM held on July 29, 2006.
Mr. Jackson Chan, Executive Director and Past President/FAOPMA was enrolled in the Honorary President list of FAOPMA, effective July 29, 2006.
